Better preventative care documentation at SIU Medicine
Challenge
SIU Medicine faced a huge problem when the practice didn’t have standardization for reporting, and had trouble reporting out of its old platform. This lack of information made it difficult to measure performance, which is something the organization wanted to correct when transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR). SIU Medicine needed to be able to effectively document, so it could perform real-time reporting to improve the practice’s performance and deliver better patient care.
Results

- Improved screening for clinical depression, from 3% in 2016 to 49% in 2017
- Achieved positive changes in pneumococcal vaccination status in older adults—from 65% to 80%.
