CHICAGO & ST. LOUIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 8, 2006–Allscripts
(Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity
and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare,
announced today that Washington University Physicians, the physician
group practice of Washington University School of Medicine, has
selected TouchWorks(TM) as its primary Electronic Health Record.

With more than 900 physicians in over 50 specialties, and
providing services at more than 35 clinical sites throughout the
greater St. Louis area, Washington University Physicians required a
solution that would provide its physicians instant access to patient
records from any location at any time. The School of Medicine has
continually been ranked as ‘One of America’s Top Medical Schools’ by
U.S. News & World Report and by embracing the movement towards
utilization of an electronic health record, Washington University
Physicians once again demonstrates its leadership in the advancement
of academic healthcare. Allscripts has a proven track record of
successfully deploying electronic health records in many of the
nation’s leading academic groups.

“Our selection by an organization that is a significant teaching
facility training many of tomorrow’s physicians, a nationally
recognized healthcare leader with a complex operating environment,
demonstrates the strength and breadth of our TouchWorks Electronic
Health Record,” commented Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of
Allscripts. “We are excited about and appreciate the opportunity to
bring world class information and connectivity to Washington
University Physicians, the associated caregivers and nurses, and their
patients.”

Washington University will integrate TouchWorks with its existing
Centricity Business (formerly IDX(R) Flowcast(TM)) revenue cycle
management system. Allscripts and IDX, now a part of GE Healthcare,
share a strategic relationship that directly links clinical and
financial information systems to provide seamless operations at
Washington University School of Medicine.
