TouchWorks Note Offers Reduced Transcription Cost, Improved Documentation

Allscripts
Healthcare Solutions (Nasdaq: MDRX), the leading provider of modular EMR and
clinical information solutions for physicians, announced today that University
of Colorado Hospital selected the full suite of TouchWorks(TM) software for 50
physicians in their ambulatory clinics. UCH cited the abilities of TouchWorks
Note(TM) to reduce transcription costs and improve clinical documentation as key
decision criteria.

“TouchWorks Note provides a flexible approach to clinical notation, saves time
and increases quality through immediate access to information,” said Steve
Clark, PhD, CIO and Vice President of University of Colorado Hospital. “In
addition, TouchWorks readily interfaces with our IDX practice management
software, making the solution easier to implement and use.”

University of Colorado Hospital has utilized IDXtend business performance
solutions from IDX Systems Corporation since 2000. The TouchWorks clinical
applications will be integrated with the IDXtend enterprise financial and
administrative functionality to drive operational improvements at every point-
of-care. For example, using a handheld device, doctors and nurses can enter
patient encounter related information (diagnosis codes, procedure codes, visit
charges and modifiers) at the point of care using TouchWorks Note and then have
the data submitted wirelessly to an IDX practice management system to ensure
accurate and timely billing. This automation helps eliminate lost charges and
delays from paper-driven processes.

“Our strategic relationship with IDX is one of the key reasons TouchWorks has
become the clinical software of choice for IDX customers,” stated Glen Tullman,
Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. “The integration we
have with IDX practice management systems eases the transition from paper-based
to electronic charts.”
