FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. & CHICAGO, May 20, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading
provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions
for physicians, announced today that the Company’s TouchWorks(TM)
solution won top honors in the category of “EHR Systems for Medium and
Large Practices” at the 2004 TEPR Convention and Exposition. Following
live presentations from the top three finalists earlier in the week, a
panel of 11 industry expert judges awarded Top Honors to TouchWorks in
the electronic health record (EHR) category. TEPR officials selected
TouchWorks as a finalist from a field of 88 applicants across eight
different award categories.

“Physicians need world-class software and technology to
fundamentally change and improve healthcare quality. Competitions like
the TEPR awards serve as an excellent forum for providers and other
stakeholders to evaluate the best available options,” commented Glen
Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions.
“We are very excited that TouchWorks continues to receive recognition
in independent evaluations from leading industry experts.”

The award-winning TouchWorks EMR (electronic medical record) has
recently garnered several other accolades. TouchWorks has also been
recognized with:

-- The highest overall rating in the 2004 Annual EMR Perception
Report from KLAS, the only research and consulting firm
specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of
healthcare's information technology vendors based on
        evaluations from their customers

-- Four consecutive 5-Star ratings from the AC Group, which
conducts the industry's most extensive and comprehensive
        evaluation of EHR functional criteria

-- The "Most Innovative Information Technology in a Physician
Community" Award from TETHIC, a leading organization that
addresses the challenges and opportunities presented by new
        technology and healthcare innovation

Dr. Peter Geerlofs, Chief Medical Officer of Allscripts Healthcare
Solutions and the presenter at the competition, had praise for the
process. “The Medical Records Institute has gone to great lengths to
make their annual awards a serious and well vetted event, enlisting 11
expert judges from health care for this particular category. I’m
pleased that the hard work of our team has been recognized in this
manner.”
