FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. & CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 20,
2004–From the floor of the 2004 TEPR Annual Conference and
Exhibition, Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading
provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions
for physicians, announced today that their TouchWorks(TM) EMR
(electronic medical record) earned a fourth consecutive 5-Star rating
in the AC Group’s 2004 EMR/EHR Survey. The study was based on more
than 5,000 functional criteria across four categories. For the first
time, the 2004 report includes a point system based on a combination
of functionality, company size, client base, end-user satisfaction,
and price. AC Group included 33 EMR application vendors in the
evaluation.
“The challenge with EMRs is that it is very difficult for the
average physician practice to effectively evaluate its options,”
commented Mark Anderson, Healthcare IT Futurist and author of the
report. “The survey is an extensive evaluation of functional criteria
that can serve as a valuable tool for the vendor selection process.
Allscripts Healthcare Solutions has clearly established itself as a
leader in this market place.”
The AC Group EMR report is based on 28 months of research and the
cumulative results of a 70-page questionnaire that includes 5,155
functional questions divided into 27 categories and four methods of
operations, including desktop capability, wireless capability, remote
access capability and PDA/mobile capability. The survey is an
extensive evaluation of functional criteria that can serve as a
valuable tool for the vendor selection process.
“This top rating reflects our commitment to our clients and our
focus on the functional needs of the physician,” stated Glen Tullman,
Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. “This
continued success stems from the dedication of our people who not only
deliver world-class software but also are focused on the deployment
and on-going usability of the software, or, said another way, the
entire physician and patient experience. We want to improve the
process across the board.”
