    CHICAGO & DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 2006--

100+ Physician Multi-Specialty Group Will Provide Patients Secure
Access to Online Personal Health Records

Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical
software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use
to improve healthcare, announced today that The Iowa Clinic, P.C. has
selected the TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record to provide
electronic connectivity to the 119-physician multi-specialty group.

The Iowa Clinic was formed in the mid-1990s when multiple
physician practices merged into one. The physician-owned group
required a solution that would provide physicians with instant access
to their patients medical records at the point of care, remotely or in
the hospital.

“The Clinic believes that information technology is a key part of
transforming healthcare,” said C. Edward Brown, Chief Executive
Officer of The Iowa Clinic, which provides care in 32 medical
specialty areas. “Our physicians are embracing this transformation and
believe our partnership with Allscripts will enable The Iowa Clinic to
provide its patients a delivery process that will be more efficient
with enhanced clinical care.”

Along with the Electronic Health Record, The Iowa Clinic will
implement TouchWorks iHealth(TM), a solution that gives patients
secure online access to their own personal health record. Using
iHealth, patients can securely register for appointments and request
prescription refills online. Patients also can access trusted
health-related content from their physicians and ultimately be
provided with tools enabling them to communicate with Iowa Clinic
physicians online.

“The Iowa Clinic is committed to offering patients a safer, more
efficient healthcare experience, and the Electronic Health Record is
critical to achieving that mission,” said Glen Tullman, Chief
Executive Officer of Allscripts. “The integration of iHealth will
better inform patients about critical information, connect them to
their physicians, and directly involve them in their own care. The
Clinic’s physicians and patients will be able to collaborate on care,
leading to higher quality and more cost-effective outcomes.”

The Iowa Clinic will integrate TouchWorks with its existing IDX(R)
Groupcast(TM) practice management solution from IDX Systems
Corporation. Allscripts and IDX, now a part of GE Healthcare, share a
strategic relationship that will directly link clinical and financial
information to support operational improvements at The Clinic.
