CHICAGO & JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–July 20,
2006–Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical
software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use
to improve healthcare, today announced that State of Franklin
Healthcare Associates has selected HealthMatics(R) Electronic Health
Record (EHR) from Allscripts subsidiary A4 Health Systems to connect
and automate 61 physicians across seven practices.
State of Franklin Healthcare Associates (SoFHA) will use the
Allscripts solution to streamline and automate many clinical and
financial functions currently performed on paper, and to help
physicians better manage the care of patients with chronic diseases
such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
“The EHR will help us re-engineer the practice, eliminating the
time we spend chasing down paper charts,” said Richard Panek,
Administrator of SoFHA, which currently operates seven physician
practices in five Northeastern Tennessee locations. “We will now be
able to capture the clinical data that we need to improve chronic
disease management, enabling our organization to develop disease state
management clinics targeted at diabetes, for instance, and greatly
enhancing the quality of care our patients receive.”
HealthMatics https://www.allscripts.com/prdHealthMatics.aspx
provides a powerful reporting tool for extracting, aggregating, and
analyzing information, which is critical to measuring success in
managing disease across entire populations.
The physicians group purchased 61 licenses for the Allscripts
software in the second quarter of 2006 following a two-year evaluation
process. Panek said SoFHA chose Allscripts for its ease of use and
because “we have a lot of confidence in their customer support and
their ability to produce a very reasonable and structured
implementation.”
“HealthMatics sophisticated reporting and analytical tools make it
easier for physician groups to track and improve their performance in
treating chronic diseases,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer
of Allscripts. “As pay for performance programs are put in place,
physicians are preparing to prove they are delivering the highest
quality patient care, and you just can’t do that without an advanced
Electronic Health Record like HealthMatics.”
State of Franklin Healthcare Associates will integrate
HealthMatics EHR with their existing Centricity(R) Business (formerly
IDX(R) Groupcast(TM)) revenue cycle management system.
