SACRAMENTO, Calif. & CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 26,
2005–Allscripts, (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical
software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use
to improve healthcare, today announced that Mercy Medical Group, a
service of Catholic Healthcare West Medical Foundation, will implement
TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record from Allscripts, to connect
the group’s more than 150 physicians across seven locations.
As Sacramento’s premier healthcare provider, Mercy Medical Group’s
(MMG) primary goal is to provide the best possible care and service to
their patients. To strengthen their role in Sacramento’s competitive
healthcare market, MMG identified a need for clinical automation.
The award-winning Allscripts solution will give MMG physicians the
ability to have access to all of their patient charts at anytime. The
Allscripts electronic health record (EHR) has proven to rapidly drive
return-on-investment for the physician’s practices and improve the
patient experience, while making the practice of medicine more
seamless for physicians.
“Our physicians and staff are very excited about implementing the
Allscripts electronic health record,” said Mike McClintock, Executive
Director of Mercy Medical Group. “This material change in the way we
practice medicine will allow us to be on the cutting edge of
technology which will help our physicians in their day to day practice
by providing a tool that will be efficient and practical, relieving
them of some of today’s outdated paperwork process so that they can
spend more time on what matters, their patients.”
Mercy Medical Group will integrate TouchWorks with its existing
IDX(R) Flowcast(R) revenue cycle management solution from IDX Systems
Corporation. Allscripts and IDX share a 10-year strategic relationship
that will directly link clinical and financial information to support
operational improvements at Mercy Medical Group.
“Practicing in a very competitive healthcare market, Mercy Medical
Group wanted to lead the way by implementing an electronic health
record that would seamlessly connect to the group’s existing practice
management system,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of
Allscripts. “This connection provides Mercy Medical Group the ability
to be a leader as healthcare in the United States continues this
significant transformation.”
