LONGMONT, Colo. & CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dec. 5,
2005–Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical
software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use
to improve healthcare, today announced that Colorado’s Longmont Clinic
has chosen the TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record to automate and
connect clinicians in the group’s main clinic, urgent care center and
satellite medical center.

The agreement, valued close to $1 million, will enable Longmont
Clinic’s 59 physicians and mid-level providers to improve the delivery
of safe, effective, high-quality care.

“Allscripts will arm our physicians with the information they need
to enhance the provision of care, regardless of where they are or when
they need it,” said Jack Campbell, Administrator of Longmont Clinic.
“Our investment in world class healthcare information technology
solutions is another example of our steadfast commitment to the health
and well-being of our community.”

Founded in 1906, Longmont Clinic is the oldest multi-specialty
physician group in northern Colorado, serving nearly 200,000 patients
in a growing community 30 miles north of Denver. The Allscripts
Electronic Health Record (EHR) will simplify the work of the group’s
physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals by automating
common clinical activities including prescribing medications, ordering
lab tests and viewing results, refilling prescriptions, and
documenting clinical encounters. Enhancing the efficiency and quality
of care, physicians will be able to track their patients health
histories over time and across the organization, and access the
information from Longmont Clinic’s facilities, from the hospital, or
while on call at home.

“We went through a lengthy evaluation process and looked hard at
the marketplace before choosing Allscripts,” said Campbell. “We wanted
a stable company with a solid track record of success with physician
practices our size. And we liked TouchWorks modular architecture,
which lets us implement the functionality we need most, get
comfortable, and then add more functionality over time.”

Campbell plans to interface Allscripts Electronic Health Record
with Longmont Clinic’s existing practice management system, to share
financial, demographic and clinical information across the
organization.

“Allscripts and Longmont Clinic share a commitment to eliminating
error, waste and unnecessary cost from the care process,” said Glen
Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “We are proud to
partner with Longmont Clinic’s physicians as they raise the standard
for the delivery of healthcare in northern Colorado.”
