CHICAGO, Aug 14, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Allscripts Healthcare
Solutions (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical software and
information solutions for physicians, announced that Gus Gamache
joined the Allscripts Board of Directors effective August 1, 2003.
With his strong experience in the managed care, payor and insurance
arenas, the Company expects Mr. Gamache will assist the Company in
better understanding the complexities of the managed care and payer
environment and providing value-added services to these groups.

Mr. Gamache currently serves as President and Chief Executive
Officer of ConnectiCare, a 280,000 member HMO located in Connecticut.
Prior to joining ConnectiCare, Mr. Gamache held a number of senior
positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts over a
20-year tenure. A graduate of Bentley College in Waltham, MA, with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance, Mr. Gamache will
serve on the Audit Committee for the Company.
