CHICAGO & GREELEY, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 14, 2006–

Northern Colorado’s Largest Multi-Specialty Physician Group Adopts EHR

for Enhanced Patient Care and Efficiency

Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX), the leading provider of clinical
software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use
to improve healthcare, today announced that Greeley Medical Clinic has
selected the TouchWorks(TM) Electronic Health Record to automate and
connect its 65 providers across seven locations.

Greeley Medical Clinic is northern Colorado’s largest
multi-specialty physician group, with 51 physicians and 14 mid-level
providers in 14 medical specialties. The physician-owned group will
implement the TouchWorks Electronic Health Record
https://www.allscripts.com/prdTWEMR.aspx to enable instant, secure
access to patient information whenever and wherever providers need it,
whether in the clinic, at the hospital or remotely.

“The Electronic Health Record is fast becoming the standard of
care for large, multi-specialty groups, including many of our
colleagues in northern Colorado,” said Barbara A. Yosses, Chief
Executive Officer of Greeley Medical Clinic. “To be competitive,
patient focused and in order to recruit the best new physicians, who
all use electronic records in medical school, we believe a world class
EHR is not only nice to have, but a requirement. Our partnership with
Allscripts will help us accomplish each of these objectives.”

The web-based TouchWorks Electronic Health Record automates many
daily clinical tasks, such as prescribing medications and documenting
clinical encounters, and connects physicians electronically to
laboratories, insurers and all other key healthcare stakeholders.
Eventually, the Clinic plans to implement TouchWorks advanced analytic
functionality, which improves management of chronic disease and
empowers practices to participate in valuable Pay for Performance
initiatives. TouchWorks monitors key disease management outcomes and
provides tools to review the details of clinical measures such as care
planning statistics, health maintenance and provider productivity.

Greeley Medical Clinic selected Allscripts after a two-year search
mainly for the Company’s “stellar track record of successful
implementations,” said Chris Rogers, Greeley’s Chief Operating
Officer. “We had extensive conversations with almost a dozen current
Allscripts clients and visited several sites and they were very, very
positive about their experience with TouchWorks,” Rogers said.
“Allscripts implementation experience and the resources they put
behind it convinced us we can achieve early and broad physician
adoption without compromising productivity.”

TouchWorks will be integrated with the Clinic’s existing
VitalWorks practice management system from Cerner, directly linking
the clinical and financial information systems to support operational
efficiency. The Electronic Health Record also will enable the Clinic
to open its newest facility in west Greeley without a medical chart
room, saving on staff and reserving space for patient care.

“Greeley Medical Clinic’s decision to implement our Electronic
Health Record is another example of the Clinic’s long history of
innovation on behalf of northern Colorado’s patients,” said Glen
Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. “As the Electronic
Health Record becomes the standard of care for physician practices,
forward-thinking practices like Greeley Medical Clinic will
increasingly turn to Allscripts because our physician focus allows us
to demonstrate more successful deployments with full physician
utilization for practices of all sizes and specialties.”
