Inpatient, Ambulatory and Emergency Care Electronic Health Records On Track to Achieve the Most
Comprehensive Level of CCHIT Certification; Company’s Inpatient and Ambulatory Electronic Health Records
Also Gain Preliminary ARRA Certification Status
ATLANTA, Jul 07, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Eclipsys Corporation (NASDAQ:ECLP), The Outcomes Company(R), today announced that the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT(R)) has listed three integrated clinical components of its Sunrise Enterprise(TM) 5.5 suite of products as premarket conditionally CCHIT Certified(R) electronic health records (EHRs). According to CCHIT:
In combination, these three products have attained premarket, conditional CCHIT Certified(R) 2011 Enterprise certification — the most comprehensive level of CCHIT certification. Enterprise level certification demonstrates the highest integration of interoperability and workflow as defined by CCHIT.
Preliminary ARRA Certification Status Achieved
In addition, Sunrise Clinical Manager also preliminarily meets 22 of 22 requirements for Hospitals, and Sunrise Ambulatory Care preliminarily meets 24 of 24 requirements for Eligible Providers published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Interim Final Rule related to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA). Inspection information is available at http://www.cchit.org/products. For the purpose of qualifying products for ARRA incentives, CCHIT anticipates, but has not yet received, accreditation by HHS.
The CCHIT premarket, conditionally certified status indicates that these three Eclipsys EHR suites have passed 100 percent of the required elements in the corresponding CCHIT 2011 Test Scripts and Security Test Scripts. Upon CCHIT’s verification that key functionality is operational at two reference site locations for 45 days, the Eclipsys EHRs would be eligible for full CCHIT certification status.
“This very important milestone further demonstrates the continuing success of Sunrise Enterprise 5.5,” said Phil Pead, Eclipsys president and chief executive officer. “We are very pleased to receive this conditional CCHIT certification which comes after the on-time release of Sunrise Enterprise 5.5 and the successful activations at two client sites, Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. While we are continuing our certification process we are proud of our accomplishments and look to continue to play our part in improving the quality and effectiveness of the nation’s health care system.”
A Meaningful Solution to Help Achieve Meaningful Use
Launched in April 2010, Sunrise Enterprise 5.5 is a significant uplift to Eclipsys’ leading integrated suite of software solutions that support the clinical, financial and access management needs of hospitals and health systems. The significant system upgrade includes extended functionality designed specifically to help healthcare organizations meet the expected “meaningful use” requirements of ARRA, as well as to achieve Stage 7 in the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model. To further support physician adoption of technology — a key component of ARRA, Sunrise Enterprise 5.5 features a new, “highly intuitive” user interface, enhanced system responsiveness and a customizable workspace. Sunrise Enterprise 5.5 ships with Helios by Eclipsys(TM) open architecture platform designed to integrate third-party applications seamlessly without interfaces, thereby lowering the total cost of ownership, improving data integrity and greatly simplifying a hospital’s third-party vendor environment.
