CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 10, 2006–Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX),
the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and
information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, today
announced several sales of its Electronic Health Record and Practice
Management solutions to small and mid-sized physician specialty
practices during the second quarter of the year.

Physician groups from fields as diverse as cardiology and
pediatrics are adopting the HealthMatics(R) Electronic Health Record
(EHR), HealthMatics Ntierprise(R) Practice Management System (PMS) and
the combined EHR-PMS solution, HealthMatics Office – all from
Allscripts subsidiary A4 Health Systems – to streamline and speed
vital clinical and administrative functions.

As highlighted by a recent report from the Institute of Medicine,
Electronic Health Records with electronic prescribing functionality
are vital to the promotion of patient safety. The IOM reported that
more than 1.5 million people are injured each year by medication
errors that could be prevented by electronic alert systems, which
automatically check patients’ medical records and medication histories
and warn physicians of any potential harm.

“Increasing numbers of small-group specialty practices are finding
that Allscripts has the solutions they need for automating and
connecting their physicians, and making their practices more efficient
and safer for patients,” said David Bond, President of Allscripts
HealthMatics group. “Whether they need a stand-alone Electronic Health
Record, a stand-alone Practice Management System or our fully
integrated HealthMatics Office product, Allscripts enables specialty
practices to effectively and efficiently manage their clinical,
administrative and financial functions.”

Between April and June of this year, Allscripts solutions were
adopted by numerous specialty physicians across the U.S., including:

-- The cardiology group Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular, with
nine cardiologists in seven offices across Elizabeth City, NC,
        which will implement HealthMatics Ntierprise.

        HealthMatics Office.

Sports Medicine in Cambridge, MA, which will implement
HealthMatics EHR for five orthopedic surgeons.

Consultants Of Greater Cincinnati, which will implement
HealthMatics Ntierprise for 12 physicians in 12 locations
        across the Cincinnati area.

Research, a two-physician group in Alpharetta, GA that will
        implement HealthMatics Office.

-- Multi-Specialty groups including Athens Medical Group in
Crawfordsville, IN, which will implement HealthMatics Office
for 16 physicians in seven practice locations.

In addition, a number of primary care groups selected
HealthMatics, including:

-- Phoenix Pediatrics, which will implement both HealthMatics EHR
and HealthMatics Ntierprise for nine physicians and four
physician assistants in Phoenix, AZ; and Chippenham Pediatric
and Adolescent Medicine, in Richmond, VA, which will implement
HealthMatics Office for eight physicians in two locations

-- Internal Medicine groups including Sandy Springs Internal
Medicine, P.C., a seven-physician practice in Atlanta, GA that
will implement HealthMatics Office; and Internal Medicine
Associates of North Platte, NE, whose five internists will
        implement HealthMatics Office.

-- Family Practice groups including Bolivar Family Care Center,
LLC, in Bolivar, MD, which will implement HealthMatics Office

medicine or streamlining claims management, Allscripts has the answer
for specialty practices of all sizes,” said Glen Tullman, Chief
Executive Officer of Allscripts.
