How Hendrick Health System achieved EMRAM Stage 7
During the Great Depression, people of the Big Country region of Texas rallied behind the hospital to keep the hospital open when money was scarce. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hendrick, for whom the Hendrick Health System is named, made a major financial gift to pay off debts and build a new wing to expand the hospital. Through the years it has been the first in the area to offer specialized services, creating departments to fill needs such as physical medicine, nuclear medicine, spiritual care and much more.
Hendrick now serves a 24-county region with a comprehensive range of services that include a neuroscience center, rehabilitation center, cancer center, hospice, NICU and surgery services.
In August 2019, Hendrick achieved another prestigious milestone: Stage 7− the highest level attainable − on the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). This award recognizes Hendrick Health System’s adoption of technology to optimize patient care in a seamless patient record environment using a single Electronic Health Record (EHR) throughout the enterprise.
