Dr. Jeanne Armstrong

Chief Medical Information Officer, TouchWorks EHR™

Dr. Jeanne Armstrong has been the Chief Medical Information Officer for Allscripts TouchWorks EHR since 2016. In 2011, she began at Allscripts as a Clinical Consultant. Dr. Armstrong has more than 17 years of experience as an active physician. Dr. Armstrong has a proven track record of technology change in medical offices and has successfully helped install, convert and customize many applications, leading to better patient care and stronger information flow. Currently, she contributes to development of policies, procedures and quality control standards. Dr. Armstrong is certified in Clinical Informatics and holds an MD from the University of Indiana Medical School.

Dr. Anna Bayes

Medical Director, United Kingdom

A prize-winning hospital doctor, Dr. Anna Bayes has been Medical Director at Allscripts UK since September 2016. She has 15 years’ prior consultancy experience, including in a variety of capacities on projects for NHS National Programme for IT / Connecting for Health. Before going into consulting, Dr. Bayes served in a series of prestigious hospital leadership positions. Dr. Bayes believes in prioritizing senior management sponsorship as the first step in clinical engagement, ensuring the success of any healthcare organization transformation program or new technology adoption.

Dr. Michael Blackman

Medical Director, Population Health and Analytics

Dr. Michael Blackman joined Allscripts from McKesson and now provides medical leadership across the Allscripts CareInMotion suite. Passionate about looking for methods to improve care, he has worked with multiple hospitals and health systems to improve how EHRs are used to both advance patient outcomes and improve clinician workflow. Additionally, he was a leader in the early work to enable to widespread use of EPCS (electronic prescribing of controlled substances).

A former Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, Dr. Blackman holds an MD from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Geoff Caplea

Medical Director, Patient Safety Program

Dr. Geoff Caplea is a passionate advocate for the thoughtful use of health IT to achieve health care's Quadruple Aim. As Medical Director for the Allscripts Patient Safety Program, Dr. Caplea fosters Allscripts safety culture, maintains a structured and standardized Patient Safety Process in partnership with clients, and advocates for patient safety within Allscripts and across the health care industry.

Dr. Caplea is board certified in Family Medicine and has practiced in a hospital-owned, multispecialty group, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), and private practice. Dr. Caplea received his medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and his business degree from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.

Dr. Joel Diamond

Chief Medical Officer, 2bPrecise™

Dr. Joel Diamond, 2bPrecise’s Chief Medical Officer and co-founder, has extensive clinical and technology experience. Formerly he served as CMIO and Chairman of the Physician Advisory Board at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Before becoming Allscripts’ Chief Medical Officer for Population Health, he helped develop dbMotion™, a solution for population health and health information exchange.

Currently Dr. Diamond also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice and a fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He continues to care for patients at Handelsman Family Practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Kim Franks

Vice President & General Manager, Consumer Health

Kim South, Allscripts’ Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Health, joined the company in 2013 as Vice President of Product Management. Three years later, she assumed her current role as Vice President and General Manager of Allscripts FollowMyHealth™. Prior to her time at Allscripts, Kim was part of the Springfield Clinic, first as an RN and later as a Clinical Informatics expert. While there, Kim implemented more than 350 physicians on a new EHR, and helped the office convert from paper-based to fully electronic. Kim has also been an Oncology Nurse at St. John’s hospital, and earned her BSN from St. John’s College.

Dr. Lissy Hu

Chief Executive Officer, Careport Health™

Dr. Lissy Hu works with leading health systems, post-acute providers and accountable care organizations to improve care coordination. She is the CEO and founder of CarePort Health, which enables healthcare providers and plans to guide and track patients in real time across the care continuum. In 2016 Allscripts acquired CarePort, extending its breadth as the largest connected acute and post-acute provider network in the industry.

Dr. Hu is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School, where she was a recipient of the Kaplan Life Sciences Award, and holds a bachelor’s degree Summa Cum Laude from Columbia University.

Dr. David Hurwitz

Director, Quality and Outcomes

Since joining Allscripts as a Director of Quality and Outcomes, David Hurwitz, MD, FACP has led many clinical outcomes projects working with a large range of Allscripts clients. His focus on descriptive analytics and reporting has been key in a broad range of projects. Dr. Hurwitz is currently the lead Clinical Analytics expert for Allscripts’ response to the rising incidence of sepsis and the Opioid Abuse Crisis. He works closely with the Allscripts Analytics Solutions teams and has helped build and validate new solutions for Antibiotic Stewardship and general EHR utilization.

Dr. Hurwitz is a practicing internist, and is board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Clinical Informatics (ABPM). He has extensive clinical informatics experience as Medical Director of Clinical Informatics for a 4-hospital health system in Central FL, where he led the EHR clinical decision support council and was involved in a Health Information Exchange implementation. Dr. Hurwitz now lives in Central Florida and enjoys playing piano, swimming and occasional skiing excursions.

Debbie McKay

Senior Solutions Manager, Regulatory

Since 2011, Debbie has served as an Allscripts Meaningful Use (MU) and regulatory subject matter expert with a focus on understanding requirements and assisting clients in operationalizing them. Prior to her leading the Sunrise Regulatory team in 2014, Debbie was a manager and consultant for Sunrise Professional Services. She was responsible for leading a team of MU consultants that helped clients prepare for MU2 and led design for Sunrise implementation and optimization projects.

Debbie has more than 30 years of clinical and managerial experience in inpatient acute care and ambulatory care. Her educational background includes a diploma in registered nursing, a bachelor’s degree in health services management and a law degree.

Paul Minton

Vice President, Product Management

Paul Minton has been a member of Allscripts since 2006. He initially joined the company as a Senior Clinical Expert. Beginning in 2013, he served for 2 years as Director of Product Management for Emergency Department Information Systems. In 2015, Paul became Vice President of Product Management and now has accountability over Sunrise and Paragon Enterprise EHRs.

Paul brings more than a decade of experience engaging with health IT solutions from a clients’ perspective, as well as more than 25 years in clinical experience. During his first years at Allscripts, he retained his position as Clinical Systems Administrator at the NorthCrest Medical Center in Tennessee. Paul began his career as a Medic in the US Army and received a Nursing degree from St. Phillips College in Texas. He also holds a certification in Critical Care Nursing from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Salman Naqvi

Associate CMIO

In his current role as Associate CMIO, Salman Naqvi, MD, MPH leads the hospital and health system strategies for EHR utilization and Clinical Outcomes. Since 2015, he has led many initiatives for clinical and financial outcomes across Allscripts’ client base, and continues to be a clinical sponsor at many US client sites. He has also helped develop and deploy clinical solutions across the globe. Dr. Naqvi has over a decade of experience with clients, solutions and services delivery, along with a post-graduate focus on Health Outcomes Improvement and Health Economics from Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Naqvi regularly spends times with clinical leaders at hospitals to understand the impact of EHR tools on disease states and clinical care processes. He is passionate about bringing tools and lessons from larger, more resourceful organizations to smaller health systems and encouraging the use of data analytics as a process improvement tool across various venues of care. Dr. Naqvi lives in Dallas.

Dr. Ramanujam (Ram) Venugopalan

Solutions Manager, Professional™

Dr. Ramanujam (Ram) Venugopalan joined Allscripts in 2009 as a Senior Business Analyst in the ambulatory space. Since then, he has continued to oversee various ambulatory EHR systems and population management initiatives, focusing on clinical leadership as well as regulatory and compliance roadmaps.

Previously, Dr. Venugopalan practiced community medicine in Mumbai, before entering the healthcare IT field. He holds a Masters in Hospital Administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and a post-graduate diploma in Medico-legal Systems. Dr. Venugopalan is dedicated to making EHRs trusted and efficient tools for clinician success and to becoming a catalyst in making healthcare smarter. He is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
