Announcing Allscripts Client Innovation Excellence (ACIE) Awards

Allscripts is inspired by our clients’ accomplishments with some of healthcare’s most difficult challenges. At this week’s Allscripts Client Experience (ACE) user group meeting for hospitals and health systems, Allscripts recognized some outstanding accomplishments with five Allscripts Client Innovation Excellence (ACIE) awards:

Financial achievements

Coastal Carolina Health System (New Bern, NC) earned an ACIE for financial achievements that resulted in lowering per capita costs to well below community and national comparisons.

Coastal Carolina Health Care used Allscripts TouchWorks® EHR to help reduce unnecessary costs and earn additional revenue. The EHR helped Coastal Carolina Health Care identify specific patient groups, which enabled physicians to significantly increase preventative screening rates. Providing better preventive care also helped reduce rates for both ER visits and hospital readmissions by 10% to 15% in just one year.

Transforming to patient-centric delivery

Allscripts recognized Nicklaus Children’s Health System with an ACIE for patient-centric transformation that resulted in improved patient care, better health outcomes and higher Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) quality scores.

Nicklaus Children’s Health System in Florida used FollowMyHealth® to drive patient engagement from 5% to 75%. Going paperless and digitizing the registration process helped the organization save 4 to 8 dollars per patient visit while achieving 94% patient satisfaction by establishing an easy way for physicians and patients to communicate digitally.

Reducing clinician burden

Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center received an ACIE for marrying clinical excellence with technology to alleviate clinician burden.

Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center embarked on a mission to optimize its use of Paragon® EHR. With Allscripts Professional Services, Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center worked collaboratively with its IT team, clinicians and executives to identify and overcome obstacles. In doing so, it increased provider satisfaction by streamlining workflows with improved documentation templates.

Quality outcomes

Allscripts awarded Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust with an ACIE for demonstrating excellence in patient outcomes and its mission to become the safest NHS organization in England.

         Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, in the United Kingdom uses its Sunrise™ electronic patient record for early          detection of delirium and dementia, and continues to improve patient experience, reduce length of stay and deliver          high-quality care.

Opioid

Allscripts recognizes University Hospitals with an ACIE for its successful efforts in combatting the opioid epidemic.

University Hospitals made opioid prescribing guidelines available to all providers with the help of Sunrise™ EHR. Providers used analytics data from across the care continuum that illustrated opioid prescribing patterns, helping providers gather more data points and design more precise interventions. Tracking this data for one year demonstrated a 20% drop in opioid units prescribed by family practice physicians and a 34% drop by internal medicine physicians.
