The Meaningful Use incentives Are On Their Way. Make Sure Your Organization is Ready.

GET EDUCATED:

HHS released two documents last week – the Standards, Implementation and Certification Interim Final Rule covering what technology developers such as Allscripts need to do with our products to help our clients be ready, and the Meaningful Use Proposed Rule on what providers will need to do on their end to prove they are, in fact, demonstrating Meaningful Use. 

The latter is the Rule that answers the types of questions physicians and their staffs have been asking since ARRA was passed - How long will I have to demonstrate use to get the incentive money? When will I be paid? How will I be treated as a physician employed by a hospital? As an urologist (or cardiologist or podiatrist), are there going to be enough reporting options for me that aren’t just primary care measures?     

There will also be a third document out in the next few weeks from HSS – this will be the proposed rule on the Certification process and will round it all out.

ONC and CMS have predicted they will have the finalized Rules across all three sets by the May timeframe.
