Lee oversees the company's strategy, government relations, mergers and acquisitions, international operations, business development and partnerships, health plan initiatives and business activities in the areas of analytics and information services. He also serves as executive sponsor for Allscripts key strategic relationships with companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Fujitsu, Henry Schein, and Intuit.

Since becoming president of Allscripts in 2001, Lee has led a team that develops the network of alliances that are and will continue to be critical to the company's success, with the goal of improving solutions, expanding offerings, enhancing market presence and broadening opportunities.

Prior to joining Allscripts, Lee was the Chief Operating Officer of Douglas Elliman-Beitler, a premier commercial office management and development company, where he directed all business activities throughout the United States. Lee also previously served as president of SES Properties, Inc., a closely held, fully integrated real estate company and, at that time, the largest retail developer in Las Vegas, NV. Concurrently, Lee formed City Financial Bancorp and served as its Vice Chairman. He was responsible for acquisition of financial institutions, financing, regulatory issues, legal affairs, and restructuring of operations leading to the ultimate sale of this $100 million holding company.

Lee serves on the boards of Medidata Solutions [Nasdaq:MDSO], Perseus Acquisition LLC (Physicians Interactive), and the Kellogg Innovation Network Advisory Board of the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Lee was appointed by Governor Quinn to the Illinois Economic Recovery Commission in 2009.  He is also an officer and director of the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation (GIRF).

Lee practiced commercial law at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum, Perlman and Nagelberg, a prominent Chicago law firm. He holds a JD degree from The University of Chicago Law School.
