AAFP Partners for Patients Core Group Member
AAFP's Center for Health Information Technology has signed historic
agreements with leading companies whose software, hardware, and networking
products and services are important adjuncts to the modern practice
of medicine. There are currently 10 companies in the Partners for
Patients core group. In addition to making a commitment to work with
AAFP on standards based on the four "Acid Test" HIT principles,
these companies have agreed to work closely with the AAFP in an advisory
capacity to help put the principles into practice through ongoing
meetings and collaboration. They have also agreed to significant
reductions in the prices of their products and services, where applicable,
to AAFP members by way of Principled Group Purchasing Agreements.
Their shared goal is to make good quality software and hardware for
electronic health record and practice management systems affordable
to any family physician who wants to make the transition.
