Stanley Crane, Chief Technology Officer
Stanley Crane brings more than 30 years of healthcare and
consumer-related software experience to Allscripts. During
that time, Stanley's development teams have produced electronic
medical record software, electronic prescribing, web-based
medication sales, online physician education, resource scheduling,
financial systems, materials management, medical translation
software and voice recognition dictation systems.
Prior to spending more than a decade in healthcare software,
Stanley was involved in Silicon Valley where he held positions
with many well-known software companies. As the General Manager
of Lotus cc:Mail, he brought in $110,000,000 in annual revenue
for Lotus, as well as introducing the first remote mail products.
He was also the Vice President of Engineering at WordStar International,
Director of Applications at Ashton-Tate, managing their Macintosh
products as well as the DOS-based dBase IV.
Stanley was one of the founders of 2 Internet startups. MaxMiles
is an automated frequent flier mileage aggregator. Stanley
built the first versions of the product, and supervised subsequent
releases as development staff was added. He was also a founder
of Shopping@Home, which was acquired by Allscripts in 1999
and is still in use today supporting Allscripts' medication
sales.
During Stanley's career, he has created over 200 software
packages, including 18 that he wrote himself, with such titles
as DB Master (program of the year in 1980) and American Heritage
Dictionary (which sold over 40 million copies).
Stanley holds a BA in mathematics from Fort Lewis College
in Durango, Colorado and an MA also in mathematics from the
University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming.
